Our Voice Magazine
Our Voice is BCCPAC’s magazine. It includes articles on what PACs are doing around BC and what BCCPAC is doing for them as well as stories on education issues affecting BC public school students. As a member of a BCCPAC, you will receive this publication. As well , you will receive our biweekly e-mail newsletter, NewsBytes that keeps you up-to-date on information for parents in your community.
Spring & Fall Conferences
At our ever-popular Conferences expect a top-notch keynote speaker, informative plenaries and workshops of interest to you as a parent/or a member of a PAC or DPAC. Complete details will be on this website as soon as they are available. All BCCPAC members pay a reduced rate.
BCCPAC Member ListServ
Any parent/guardian in the school community of the member a PAC/DPAC may register to participate in the Member ListServ.
To register for this service, send an e-mail with your name, the e-mail address you wish to use, your PAC school name or DPAC name and school district to info@bccpac.bc.ca.
Reasons to Join BCCPAC
- Government and education partners recognize BCCPAC as the provincial voice for parents through its member PACs and DPACs.
- On behalf of parents, represented by member PACs and DPACs in BC, BCCPAC advocates for systemic changes to the education system.
- Member PACs and DPACs can effect change at the provincial level by bringing resolutions to the Annual General Meeting. These are voted on by the membership and, if passed, become part of the voice of BCCPAC through our Record of Member Resolutions.
- BCCPAC has been successful in the implementation of new legislation that reflects parents’ concerns as voiced through our membership.
- Member PACs and DPACs nominate and vote on Board positions at the Annual General Meeting.
- We provide ways for member PACs and DPACs to network, share their questions and successes via a listserv.
- Members receive regular communications about educational issues at the provincial level via e-mail, direct mail and our website (www.bccpac.bc.ca).
- BCCPAC provides excellent leadership education from skilled experts at its two annual conferences. These are available at a reduced rate to members.
- A travel subsidy is provided for each qualified school district to attend the Fall and Spring Conferences and the Annual General Meeting.
- Members are eligible to serve on various provincial committees and focus groups–they are given the opportunity to provide input before decisions are made.
